Out of a love for classic dungarees, Alice and Georgie launched their US-based business, Dotty Dungarees in 2013. Both founders have fond memories of exploring their worlds, as children in overalls, and wanted to capture that nostalgia and bring it into contemporary children’s fashion.

Dotty Dungarees is committed to sustainable fashion, and sources materials from ethically-minded suppliers. The brand employs a largely female workforce who helped them redesign the classic dungaree into a product that’s as unique as each child who wears it.

Challenge

Dotty Dungarees turned to Cymbio’s expertise for help with onboarding to the Zalando marketplace. As a small business, Dotty Dungarees was faced with the challenge of scaling its business to new retailers but didn’t have the tools and resources it needed to complete this onboarding on its own. In addition, the brand wanted the option to simplify its operations and have the opportunity to further expand its reach in the future. 

Solution

As Dotty Dungarees was looking for a way to smoothly integrate its existing Shopify store with retailers like Zalando, Cymbio stepped in to help make this transition painless. Cymbio’s marketplace automation platform enabled Dotty Dungarees to connect with large retailers, setting up the entire process by integrating the brand’s existing Shopify platform.

The partnership between Cymbio and Dotty Dungarees allowed the fashion brand to scale and sell on bigger platforms despite being a small business with limited resources. Thanks to Cymbio’s automation tools, an integration process that would have taken Dotty Dungarees months to accomplish on its own was done in a few weeks.

Cymbio stepped up by taking over Dotty Dungaree’s existing dropshipping business and connected the brand with additional major retailers. Using Cymbio, Dotty Dungarees now sells its products through retailers such as Maisonette, Hudson’s Bay, Saks, Nordstrom, Macy’s, BonTon, J.Crew, and more.
