Let’s Shop Small

In dedication to Small Business Saturday, let’s celebrate old traditions and make new ones. Whether you buy a new ornament from your local gift store or grab a peppermint mocha from your favorite cafe, supporting local businesses during the holiday gives them the boost they need.

And if you missed this year’s Small Business Saturday (Nov. 27th), don’t worry! You can shop at small businesses any day to help support them.

Why Support Small Businesses?

Did you know that 99.7% of all U.S. businesses are small businesses?

That’s a mind-boggling number since it seems like all we hear about are the huge Amazons of the world. But small businesses far outnumber the large conglomerates in our lives.

64% of new jobs created in the U.S. between 1993 and 2011 were from small businesses

When we think of small businesses, our minds might automatically wander to the mom-and-pop shop on the corner of the block, but eCommerce businesses are making their presence known in a big way too.

eCommerce sales account for 18% of retail sales worldwide

The truth is that small businesses employ many more people in the United States, so by supporting small businesses, you support the many people helping to keep them running.

Small businesses also donate 250% more to nonprofits and community causes

Small businesses have a much deeper connection to their community because they are supported by the locals surrounding them. Donating to worthy causes helps them give back to their community as well as spread awareness and gain new customers.

Small Businesses in Action

We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with some incredible small businesses! Let’s jump into some of Cymbio’s rockstar brands that are growing with us:

Craighill logo

Founded in 2015 by designer Hunter Craighill, CraigHill is a design and manufacturing brand rooted in curiosity, ingenuity, and pleasure. They’re not the kind of brand that wants to go on about the “essence of design,” but they are all about balancing the limitless magic of an object with its tactile, real-world functionality. Whether you are looking to find a more seductive way to protect and store your glasses, a more beautiful home for your keys, or a sculptural pillow for your wallet, that’s what they’re here for.

“We know that the world already has too much “stuff” and that you don’t need yet another shiny object. That’s why we design our products to be as functional and timeless as they are beautiful and intriguing.”

Here’s what they have to say about Cymbio:

Working with Cymbio over the past year has been incredible. It’s very rare to establish a technology partnership that delivers truly outsized value, but that’s exactly what we’ve experienced. Their service and expertise have allowed us to dramatically improve our operational efficiency around drop ship and marketplace relationships, and as a result, we feel confident in our ability to bring on new partners and continue growing this element of our business. On top of that, they’re also a team of remarkably kind and communicative people. Highly recommended!

Pehr logo

Pehr is a female-founded, female-led company. Their focus is very clear – to design what they loved and believed was useful. The quality and design of their products are of equal importance. An element of ‘Playful Sophistication’ was and continues to be the lens through which all of their products come to life.

Friends since they were kids themselves, Jen Kelly and Becca Parren struggled to find a brand that could accurately reflect their shared approach to style and motherhood. Knowing that they created a perfect space for children and is as much about you as it is about them. With an unwavering commitment to quality, attention to detail, and sustainable manufacturing practices, Pehr was born.

Here’s what they have to say about Cymbio:

As a small business, Cymbio has allowed Pehr to reach a broader audience through connectivity and a seamless processing experience. We have successfully been able to onboard more customers through the simplification of daily processes available through Cymbio’s streamlined operations and have ultimately proven to be a key factor in Pehr’s growth between the brand and our retailers.

Kid Made Modern Logo

Kid Made Modern is on a mission to create the next generation of creative thinkers. Since 2012, they’ve been making exclusive products designed to inspire children to push the boundaries of their imaginations while expressing themselves through creativity.

Kid Made Modern is led by a team of working moms, each with 20+ years of experience creating innovative products for kids and their families. They’re obsessed with safety and quality, and super serious about fun! They believe in the power of creating an environment free from judgments, rules, and boundaries where children are limited by nothing but their imaginations. When they see kids having fun with their product and taking pride in their ideas, they know they’ve done their jobs!

Here’s what they have to say about Cymbio:

In our two years working with Cymbio, they’ve helped manage our drop ship assortments with several pivotal retailers while introducing us to new drop ship opportunities. We can only keep growing with this integral partner!
